Chris Moore is the Moore County American Legion Post 12 Buggy Town Baseball team manager.

In an effort to advance the American Legion Baseball Program in Moore County, Chris is spear heading the charge to build a local baseball field.  In order to move this project forward, we need donations.  Please contact Chris to promote and support this wonderful effort.

The 2025 Buggy Town Baseball Season in review

American Legion Post 12’s 2025 baseball season was a resounding success!  We set out this year with a few goals and met every one of them.

We wanted to expand the program to include a Junior team and successfully fielded a strong base to build off of in the future.  The Juniors finished the season with an 11-10 record while making it to the third round of Area 3 playoffs.  

We increased our donor list tremendously, establishing partnerships with The Plumbing Knight, J-Signs, and Kee’s Appliances who all provided cash donations to help offset team costs.  We also got great support from Post 12 and members who donated team hats and covered registration fees.  Thank you, all!

Diamond Labs donated our game jerseys, which turned out amazing.  This is a huge annual cost and helped out a lot.  Valhalla martial arts gym donated a second uniform that will be on display for 2026 season.

The Senior team improved a ton.  The coaches did a fantastic job expanding our recruiting and relationships.  Seniors finished with a 10-12 record, 9 wins more than last season, and swept both Hamlet Post 49 and Aberdeen Post 72!

The American Legion World Series 2025

2025 was an exciting year for the ALWS!  Congratulations to Post 70, Asheville (N.C.), for having a historic season in winning the program’s first state title since 1929.  Congratulations to Post 280, Chesapeake (Va.), for winning The American Legion World Series championship.

The 2024 Buggy Town Baseball Season in review

According to Chris Moore, the overall record was 3-13. Quoting the Buggy Town team manager: "We lost every game until Wednesday. Pretty rough as a new young team...We beat Anson 5-3."  Postseason started Monday against Post 49, Hamlet, best of three games. If we play to the level we are capable of, we have a chance. More importantly this season was incredibly beneficial for the team. They faced tremendous competition and watching the grow from scared at the beginning to aggressive at the end was fun to see. I have very high hopes going forward next season. As for my primary goal of building a team rooted in the community, we could not have done better. I cannot count how many parents, fans and coaches who came up to me to thank us for bringing Legion ball back to Moore County. In fact, I have 5 coaches interested in on field coaching next year. I say all this to say this was a tremendous success. We will field a more competitive team next year and represent Post 12 to the best we can.
